For more than a year, conservatives have been shamelessly politicizing the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, by adding a hashtag and trying to keep it trending on Twitter. They did this knowing full well that, from the outset, Christopher Stevens’ dad had called the politicization of the attack “abhorrent.”
Other than Darrell Issa, no one has been a shameless about promoting reckless conspiracy theories as GOP Senator Lindsey Graham, who only last week said he would hold up all Obama executive nominees until he found out exactly who was lying about the fake, phony, made up, scandal known as #Benghazi.
Today, that all changed.
Following the news that the latest fictional version of #Benghazi he had been hyping had been completely disavowed by “60 Minutes” on the basis that they were just trying to promote a book their company was publishing, Graham silently admitted the source of all the lies he’d been spreading about #Benghazi: His own fevered imagination.
